The Sabbath in Rhyme and Rhythm
The Sabbath in Rythmn and Rhyme
1. Sabbath Rest
Upon the sixth day’s fading light,
The world exhales from toil and fight.
A holy hush falls o’er the land,
By God’s own gentle, loving hand.
No hammer’s strike, no anxious call,
No burdened heart or frantic thrall.
Instead, we pause, in reverent awe,
And keep the law without a flaw.
The Sabbath speaks of grace and peace,
Of souls unbound, of sweet release.
A gift divine, a sacred dove,
A taste of heaven, rest, and love.
2. Day of Delight
The sun may rise, the fields may gleam,
Yet nothing stirs our frantic dream.
For on this day, the Lord commands,
We rest our work, we fold our hands.
No coin to chase, no deed to haste,
No worldly cares to leave a trace.
The Sabbath sings in heart and mind,
A treasure rare, in God we find.
We walk in light, our spirits soar,
Through heaven’s gates we glimpse the floor.
A covenant of love so deep,
Its peace we take, its joy we keep.
3. Holy Sabbath
The morning dawns with quiet grace,
God’s presence fills this sacred space.
The clamor fades, the heart turns near,
To Him who calms all pain and fear.
The Sabbath blooms like fragrant rose,
Its beauty in simplicity shows.
Time suspended, burdens cease,
We dwell in God, we taste His peace.
A day apart from fleeting strife,
To feed the soul, renew the life.
Blessed Sabbath, gift divine,
Forever sacred, ever mine.
